Okay, after this I’m REALLY going to go on hiatus for a month. This time I give an accounting on my regionals experience, and talk a bit on my experience with handling losing.
On the eve of my regional, a new show appears! I talk about the hot fleets I mentioned last week, and give my opinion on Hyperspace Assault.
I’m working away on the new episode, but first a couple of announcements:
1) After this episode, Fire When Ready is going to be taking a break for a bit, I have a lot of real life stuff to take care of in the next month or so. I’ll try to get some small episodes out as I can, though.
2) To tide you over, I’m also on this week’s Fanboy News Network Episode, #40, where I talk about geek stuff for a bit with my friend Jeff. http://www.fanboynewsnetwork.com/fanboy-news-network-episo…/
Plus I’m preparing for regionals this Saturday!
May the 4th be with you! Time to talk about Contested Outpost and Opening Salvo, a little bit about regionals and the Gozanti preview, and you just can’t keep a good Admiral down.
I have (not so) sneakily updated episodes 7, 9, and 11 to fix some inaccuracies and bring an Armada Advice in line with the new ruling for fingers counting as tools for the “one tool at a time” rule. Update your feeds!
It’s been far too long, but here’s a new episode! I talk about Precision Strike and Advanced Gunnery, and I also say farewell to one of the icons of Star Wars. Plus, there’s more on the way soon!
The voice of Admiral Ackbar, Erik Bauersfeld, has passed away at 93.
New episode! I wrap up my looks at the ships with the MC30, and then start my new coverage of objectives with Most Wanted.
I welcome your feedback on the format of my coverage of objectives. Let me know here, on Twitter, the FFG forums, Facebook, or email with your thoughts.
Things have gotten busy again, and frankly it’s a bit more of a challenge than I thought it would be nailing down the format of how I want to talk about objectives. Work progresses, though, and I should have a new show for you early next week!
As promised, here’s the rules I used for the league I ran. Note that the TP bonuses below were adjusted on the fly every week so that each faction had a chance to come back from a loss. That way, no team felt like they were getting blown out and didn’t have a chance. Another thing I learned was that I should put the two “fun” missions (Imperial week 2, Rebel week 3) opposite each other in the same week. Otherwise you end up like we did, where my players managed to avoid both by Rebels winning week 2 and Imperials winning week 3.
Without further ado, here’s the rules! They’re also linked as a Word doc next if you’d rather read them later that way. Armada league 1
